Getting paid
Add the email of your PayPal account in You → Invite friends. That's where we send your earnings.
10% of the payment, before tax, shows up in You → Invite friends, held for 30 days.
It becomes available. If the payment was refunded in the meantime, it's canceled instead.
We send what's available by PayPal, in US dollars, once it adds up to $20 or more.
In Ascent, under You → Invite friends, with your link and a button to share them. You can swap it for a code of your own choosing; the old one then stops working.
Anyone who hasn't subscribed to Ascent yet. Each account can use one code, once, and never its own. Two people can't use each other's codes.
Yes, as long as they haven't subscribed yet: they open your link on their iPhone and Ascent fills in your code. Once someone has subscribed, codes no longer apply.
Each earning becomes available 30 days after your friend's payment. Once a month, we send what's available by PayPal, in US dollars, when it's at least $20. Less than that carries over.
A payment can still be refunded in the weeks after it's made. Waiting means a refund cancels the earning before it's paid out, not after.
You keep what you've already earned. New earnings stop when their subscription ends. A refund or chargeback takes back the earning from that payment.
Your link shows your community name and photo, if you have a community profile. You see how many friends used your code and what you've earned, but not who paid what.
What you earn may count as income where you live, and you're responsible for your own taxes. We may ask for your tax details before paying you.

These terms cover Ascent's invite program: inviting friends with your code, what they get, and what you earn. They're part of our Terms of Use (useascent.app/terms), which also apply, and "Ascent", "we" and "us" mean the same as there. How the program uses your data is explained in section 3.11 of our Privacy Policy (useascent.app/privacy).
You can invite friends if you have an Ascent account and you're at least 18. Taking part is free and up to you.
Every Ascent account has an invite code and a link to it (useascent.app/r/ followed by the code), both in You > Invite friends in the app. You can change your code to one of your own choosing; your old code and link then stop working.
Anyone who opens your link sees your code and, if you have a community profile, your community name and profile picture.
Each earning is held for 30 days after the payment, then becomes available. If a payment is refunded or charged back, the earning from it is reversed: while it's being held, it's canceled; after that, it's deducted from your balance.
Share your code honestly, with people who'd want to hear about Ascent. Don't:
When you share your code publicly, for example on social media, make it clear that you earn from it.
Earnings must come from real people who choose Ascent. If we find fraud or abuse, for example extra accounts made to use your own code, paid or fake sign-ups, or breaking section 7, we may cancel the earnings involved, hold or refuse payouts, remove you from the program, and close your account under section 10.2 of the Terms of Use. Unless the law or safety reasons prevent it, we'll tell you why and give you a chance to respond.
We may change these terms or end the program. We'll tell you in the app at least 30 days before a change that reduces what you earn, or before the program ends. If it ends, we'll pay the balance that's available on that day, even if it's under US$20.
Deleting your Ascent account ends your part in the program: your code and link stop working, and earnings not yet paid are canceled. To be paid an available balance first, email us before you delete your account. We keep records of payouts already made, as tax and accounting laws require.
